My journey to a whimsical Style Home (featuring a real picture of my first apartment!)

My favorite cozy corner in my first ever apartment…featuring the cutest pup

I still remember the day I moved into my first real apartment in the city. It was small, full of potential, and completely mine. I didn’t have a defined design style yet—just a handful of pieces I’d collected, a few hand-me-downs, and a gut feeling about what felt right.

I chose what made me smile: a giant white fluffy Lovesac in the corner, fuzzy pink pillows, a pink and teal patterned rug that felt like it belonged in a storybook. I added gold accents, unique artwork, and over time… something beautiful happened. Without even realizing it, I had curated a space that felt completely me—a little whimsical, a little boho, a little glam.

That apartment taught me one of my favorite lessons: you don’t need to have it all figured out to create a home you love. You just need to trust your eye, follow what makes you feel something, and give yourself permission to play.

Now, whimsical home style is at the heart of everything I do. It’s cozy, creative, and full of joy—and it’s a reminder that design doesn’t have to be serious to be beautiful.

This post is for anyone who’s looking to add a little more magic to their home. Whether you’re starting fresh or styling a tiny corner, I hope you find ideas that spark inspiration and bring joy into your space.
